What is a Chiropractor?

A Chiropractor is a neuro-musculo-skeletal (NMSK) expert. Chiropractors treat conditions related to nerves/discs, bones/joints and muscles/tendons/ligaments. Dr. Warring, our Calgary based Chiropractor, is also an expert on nutrition/supplementation and rehabilitation exercises. The term chiropractor by definition means a practitioner who uses their hands to treat patients. In this way a chiropractor uses various techniques with his hands and other tools to help relieve your pain. A Chiropractic doctor does not only treat the spine, but is an NMSK expert of the entire body. Thus, they can treat symptoms of the feet, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, TMJ and more.

Chiropractic care addresses the root causes of pain and discomfort, rather than just the symptoms. By aligning the spine and improving joint mobility, chiropractic treatments can reduce pain, increase range of motion, and improve overall well-being.

What to Expect on Your First Appointment

The initial visit with our Chiropractor lasts about thirty to forty minutes and generally includes the following four areas listed below. After the initial visit, all follow-up chiropractic appointments tend to be much shorter lasting about ten to fifteen minutes
Chiropractic Exam

Health History & Symptoms

It is very important to fill out the intake forms and discuss your history as thoroughly as possible because this gives your doctor a comprehensive idea of your health and how to target your specific problems.
Chiropractic Assessment

Physical Exam

Now your doctor will perform a series of tests to determine things like your range of motion of the affected area(s), joint restrictions, muscle strength, muscle tone, and neurological integrity.
Chiropractic Diagnosis

Patient Diagnosis & Explanation

After the examination your Chiropractor will explain to you what specific condition(s) is causing your problem and explain the anticipated length of your Chiropractic care.
Chiropractic Adjustment

Treatment Plan

Now your Chiropractor will explain what specific treatment options are best for your condition and provide an individualized treatment for you.

At Vitality Clinic, our Chiropractor is a neuromusculoskeletal expert who uses various assessment screens to figure out what is causing your problem, pain, lack of mobility, or weakness. This means they will deal with your body as a whole and look at all possible things that might be affecting you and how they can work together with you to fix those things. A Chiropractor looks at the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, but also your nutrition, environmental factors and activity levels to help gauge the extent of the problem. Book your appointment now to see how a Chiropractor can help you.
